Limitations and alternatives
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Pancoast Benefits Website , there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
Known limitations for Pancoast Benefits Website:
- Links Open in New Window/Tab: In many instances on our site, links are configured to open in new windows or tabs. In some instances, this is not disorienting (i.e. icons that link to our social media profiles, logo images that link to provider sites, or email addresses that automatically open a new email using your preferred email client). In other instances, we have text links that take you off-site to provider partners where you can get additional information. Where links are configured as buttons with text, or are in paragraphs, we have added a signal icon – ⎋ – to indicate that the link will take you off our site. If you experience any confusion with any links directing you off-site, please reach out to us via the contact information in the Feedback section above, and we will be happy to assist you, and immediately correct any issues that can be reasonably resolved.
- Insufficient color contrast for active navigation menu items: Our primary navigation indicates that a navigational link is the link to the currently active page in two ways: a change of color, and underlining. In this case, the color of the active link does not have sufficient contrast with the background of the page, but – based on our manual checks – it does have sufficient contrast with the dropdown menu background. If you experience any trouble using our site’s navigation due to color contrast errors, please reach out to us via the contact information in the Feedback section above, and we will be happy to assist you.
- Possible Headings: Our site makes use of formatting to draw attention to certain text and make the test overall easier to read. However, in some cases, this makes text appear as though it is a headline. We have made every effort to ensure that this site’s heading nesting is accurate and helpful to users with screenreaders. If you find our text formatting to be confusing – or if you find an instance where headers are inappropriately nested, please reach out to us via the contact information in the Feedback section above to let us know.
- Missing Table Headers: On our travel insurance page, we make use of tables to clearly articulate what our travel insurance provides. These tables themselves do not have headers configured; rather, the H3 header above them serves as the table header. To clarify the table header, find the preceding H3.
- Empty Paragraph Tags: In some cases, the tool that powers the layout and design of our site, Divi Builder, inserts unnecessary/empty paragraph tags rather than a non-breaking space. We have made every effort to ensure the removal of these empty tags, but we do not know why the builder does this and therefore cannot guarantee that it will not happen in the future. If you find any empty paragraph tags to be troublesome or preventing you from understanding the content of our site, please reach out to us via the contact information in the Feedback section above to let us know.
